Course Description

"Signals and Systems" is a fundamental course toward more advance study in many fields such as signal processing, communications, control, and much more. In this course, we will focus on the representation and analysis of deterministic signals and linear time-invariant systems. Practical examples in each field will be presented.

The course will consist of weekly homeworks, potential bi-weekly (15 minutes) quizzes, two midterms, one final, and extra credits for class contribution.

Prerequisites

This course requires linear algebra and basic calculus.

Textbook

Alan V. Oppenheim and Alan S. Willsky, with S. Hamid Nawab, Signals and Systems,
2nd Ed., Pearson New International Ed., Eurasia Book Co. (歐亞), 2014 or 東華代理版本 are both fine.

Grading

Your final grade will be made up from You will lose 10% each day for late submission of assignments. However, you have three "late days" for the whole course. That is to say, the first 24 hours after the due date and time counts as 1 day, up to 48 hours is two and 72 for the third late day.
